Thiamin is also known as vitamin B1. When it is balanced within your body, it can provide for better overall functioning and balance in your everyday life. Having the right amount of thiamin in your body will help in many ways, as thiamin is a main nutrient that your body needs for normal functioning. When determining whether you are getting enough of the thiamin vitamin, there are several different things to consider.

The main purpose of the thiamin vitamin is to help with two different areas of functioning in your body. One is to increase energy in the
metabolism. By doing this, it increases the levels of digestion in the body, which help to maintain weight as well as move vitamins and substances through your body quickly and effectively. Having your metabolism function at a normal pace is important for the functioning of your entire body. The second major purpose of the thiamin vitamin is to help with nerve and muscle functioning. By having the right amount of B1, or thiamin, in your system, your nerves will have a quicker response time and muscles will be more efficient.

Thiamin, or B1 vitamins come from several varieties of food. They are mostly found in several different meats. Things such as liver and organ meats are known to have a large source of the thiamin vitamin in them. Pork is another type of meat that carries a large amount of B1 as a vitamin source. Beyond this, grains, cereals and nuts usually contain thiamin. If these sources of the vitamin are fried or over-baked, the nutrient will be lost.

It is known that you should take around fifty milligrams of thiamin every day. Not having this much in your system, or taking too much of this vitamin can cause problems as it will not balance your body properly. If you do not have this body in your system, you may find that your body easily swells. Because it is known to help your nerves and muscles, you may also begin to feel weak or fatigued. The functioning with the nerves may also cause your brain to be unable to function at a normal level. At the same time, if you take too much of the thiamin vitamin, it may cause similar problems. This includes weakness in muscles and nerves as well as the inability to sleep and have the proper brain functioning. Because of this, it is important to balance out the vitamin with other sources of vitamins in your every day nutrition.

Knowing how much thiamin to take will help you to be able to function properly as well as increase several different areas of your body. Using this either through supplements or in a variety of foods will help in your every day functioning. Thiamin is known as one of the stronger vitamins that help with providing sources of functioning in different areas of your body. If you feel weak or are having problems, you should look into thiamin to determine if that is the problem with your balanced diet.
